CAT 2018 is an important entrance examination conducted by the IIM Calcutta. The examination was held on 25 November 2018. As per notification released by the exam conducting body, the answer key for the examination will be released in the first week of December. The answer key will be available in the online mode which can be downloaded by logging into the official website of IIM CAT.
Answer Key release
The CAT 2018 Answer Key for the examination is all set to be released during the first week of December. Candidates who appeared for the examination can download the same by logging in the official website of CAT. The Answer Key is released with the view of reducing the tension and stress faced by aspirants after the examination and till the release of result.
The answer key would help throw light on their performance, will be able to self-evaluate their performance and accordingly prepare for the further examination. In order to reduce the burden of candidates, the conducting authority has decided to release the Answer Key before the publishing of results.
The CAT results are likely to be announced during the first week of December, the official notification of which is yet to be released.

Candidates can download the answer key and avail other important information related to downloading process, filing an objection in the CAT answer key during the second week of December and much more.

- Click on the link stating download CAT Answer Key 2018
- Login with your credentials of registration ID and Password
- Candidates will be shown the Answer Key Page
- Download the Answer Key in the PDF Format
- Download it and save
- Candidates can take a printout of the Answer Key.
Challenging of CAT Answer Key 2018
Another purpose for IIM CAT to release the Answer Key is for the candidates to go through the entire paper and evaluate whether the answers mentioned in the paper is right or not. In case there is an error in the answer key with the answers noted, candidates can file an objection challenging the same.
They can file one or more objections. Candidates must file an objection form which will be released during the second week of December and pay a filing objection fee of Rs. 1000/- per question.
In case the objection filed by the candidate is valid, the objection fee will be refunded back to the students. However, if the objection filed is invalid, the authority will take corrective measures for the same.
CAT 2018 Marking Scheme
Candidates after downloading the Answer Key are recommended to check every question in detail. They are recommended to check the answer key as per the marking scheme prescribed by the IIM. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 3 marks for MCQs as well as Non-MCQs. In case of the wrong answer, only 1 mark will be deducted. However, there is no negative marking for Non-MCQ questions and answers that are left unanswered.
CAT 2018 Result
The CAT 2018 results are notified to be declared after the release of CAT Answer Key. It will be released by the IIM Calcutta. However, no official notification has been passed by the authority. The results are likely to be released during the first week of December 2018. It will be released in the Online Mode on the official website. Candidates can check their CAT Results by logging in the official website using their credentials of Registration ID and Password.
